<p>Air India on Wednesday cancelled flights to and from nine airports, including <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/amp/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/yeh-toh-trailer-hain-picture-abhi-baaki-hain-maharashtra-dy-cm-eknath-shinde-on-operation-sindoor-23536701" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Srinagar</a> and Amritsar, till early morning of May 10.</p>
<p>The announcement comes in the wake of Operation Sindoor under which armed forces launched missile attacks against Pakistan in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack last month that killed 26 people.</p>
<p>"Air India flights to and from the following stations, Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/india-reaches-out-to-many-countries-following-operation-sindoor-23536529" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Chandigarh</a>, and Rajkot, are being cancelled till 0529 hrs IST on 10 May following a notification from aviation authorities on the closure of these airports," the airline said.</p>
<p>In a post on X, the airline also said passengers holding valid tickets for travel during this period will be offered a one-time waiver on rescheduling charges or a full refund for cancellations.</p>
<p>Multiple flights have been cancelled by various airlines due to airspace restrictions following Operation Sindoor.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Indian airlines cancelled scores of flights and a few airports in north India, including Srinagar, have been shut for operations in the wake of the armed forces carrying out missile strikes on terror targets in Pakistan.</p>
<p>Indian armed forces early Wednesday carried out missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/operation-sindoor-brought-partial-justice-more-action-needed-father-of-pahalgam-terror-attack-victim-23536629" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Pakistan-occupied Kashmir</a>, including Jaish-e-Mohamad stronghold of Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba's base Muridke.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, following missile strikes on targets inside Pakistan by Indian Armed Forces, authorities on Wednesday morning closed Rajkot and Bhuj airports in Gujarat for civilian aircraft.</p>
<p>The Bhuj airport is located in Kutch, a district bordering on Pakistan.</p>
<p>"We have received NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) today morning that the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/operation-sindoor-9-terror-hubs-in-pakistan-and-pok-flattened-in-indian-missile-offensive-23536515" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Rajkot International Airport </a>will remain shut for three days," said Rajkot district collector Prabhav Joshi.</p>
<p>It will remain operational round the clock for military aircraft for the next three days, said another official.</p>
<p>Air India announced that it will not operate any flight for Rajkot, Bhuj and Jamnagar airports in Gujarat till 12:00 noon.</p>
<p>"In view of the prevailing situation, Air India has cancelled all its flights to and from the following stations -- Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot -- till 12 noon on 7 May, pending further updates from authorities...We regret the inconvenience caused due to this unforeseen disruption," said the airline in its early morning post on X.</p>
