Pune was thrown into chaos after an intense, erratic downpour of 104 mm in just one hour triggered flood-like conditions across the city, exposing critical gaps in urban infrastructure. Officials termed the event “cloudburst-like” in at least two locations, underscoring increasingly volatile rainfall patterns. The sudden surge led to widespread waterlogging, disruption of daily life, and damage to homes, with rainwater entering several residential areas.
