Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said that 11 people died while 33 others were injured near Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) victory parade stampede.
CM Siddaramaiah said, "Beyond our expectations people had gathered for RCB celebrations in Bengaluru. More than 2-3 lakh people came near Chinnaswamy Stadium, no one expected this crowd."
He said, "Most of deceased in RCB celebrations are youth. Govt will provide Rs 10 lakh compensation to kin of deceased. All injured are out of danger."
