Ambareesh Murty, the co-founder and CEO of Pepperfry, a prominent online furniture and home decor marketplace, has tragically passed away due to a cardiac arrest in Leh. He was 51 years old. Murty's sudden demise was confirmed by his colleague and co-founder Ashish Shah. Murty's contributions to the business world and his passion for motorcycling had earned him a respected position within the industry.
Having held positions at well-known companies such as Cadbury, ICICI AMC (now ICICI Prudential), and Levi's, Ambareesh Murty co-founded Pepperfry in 2011. Under his leadership, the online platform, which offers a diverse range of furniture and home decor items, gained prominence and garnered investments from notable entities like Goldman Sachs, Pidilite Ventures, and Bertelsmann India Investments. Pepperfry's valuation reached USD 500 million, showcasing Murty's entrepreneurial prowess.
