Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has strongly criticized the Union BJP Government, accusing it of engaging in vindictive politics and misusing independent investigating agencies for political purposes. Stalin's comments came in response to the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh.

While pointing out to the arrest, and the raid on the residence of DMK MP Jagathrakshakan, Stalin said these are clear examples of “BJP's misuse of power”. He stated that these actions were part of a deliberate campaign to persecute opposition leaders, which he regarded as a severe assault on democracy.
