A court here on Tuesday granted permission to shift Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is currently in judicial custody at Parappana Agrahara Central jail here in the Renukaswamy murder case, to Ballari prison. The court also permitted the shifting of other co-accused in the murder case to various prisons in the state. Earlier in the day, both Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G Parameshwara indicated that authorities were weighing the option of shifting Darshan, after a photograph of him hanging out with three others, including a rowdy sheeter, on the lawns of the jail had gone viral on Sunday, sparking a row.

BRS leader K Kavitha, who was arrested in March this year, walked out of Tihar Jail here late Tuesday evening to a rousing welcome by her party members, hours after the Supreme Court granted her bail in corruption and money laundering cases linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. Terming her arrest as illegal, Kavitha, 46, said that BRS and KCR team is "unbreakable" and vowed to fight on politically and legally. BRS workers and supporters, who had gathered outside the jail, celebrated her release by dancing to the beats of drums and bursting crackers. Kavitha`s brother and BRS working president K T Rama Rao was also present.

She then alleged that bodies were hanging and rapes were taking place during the farmers` protest against the now-repealed three farm laws.
