Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 2 LIVE Updates: Madhya Pradesh records 54.42 pc voter turnout till 5 pm
Madhya Pradesh recorded 54.42 per cent voter turnout till 5 pm in the second phase of polling for six parliamentary seats in the state, according to the data released by the Election Commission of India. The polling for the six parliamentary seats --Tikamgarh (SC), Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa and Hoshangabad-- began on Friday at 7 am in the state and it would conclude at 6 pm. Of these, Hoshangabad is leading the voter turnout charts with 63.44 per cent voting followed by Tikamgarh 56.24 percent, Satna 55.51 per cent, Damoh 53.66 per cent, Khajuraho 52.91 per cent and Rewa 45.02 per cent till 5 pm so far in the state.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 2 LIVE Updates: The police have registered an offence against Shiv Sena (UBT) Lok Sabha candidate Chandrahar Patil for holding a `padayatra` (foot march) allegedly without permission in Maharashtra`s Sangli district, an official said on Friday. A case under section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant) of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Maharashtra Police Act has been registered against Patil and three organisers, the official said.

Earlier, they had voted in the assembly elections held last year in the month of March. The Bru migrants who had been staying in six relief camps of North Tripura district till 2020 now received permanent settlement in 12 locations across the state.

The highest polling of 49.72 per cent was recorded in Darrang-Udalguri, closely followed by 49.14 per cent in Karimganj, 46.40 per cent in Diphu (ST), 44.48 per cent in Nagaon and 40.23 per cent in Silchar, they said. Nearly 7.4 per cent of the 1.49 eligible voters cast their ballots till 9 am in eight Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 on Friday, officials said. Voting started at 7 am in Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Wardha and Yavatmal-Washim seats in the west Vidarbha region and Hingoli, Nanded and Parbhani constituencies in Marathwada, and will end at 6 pm. Till 9 am, the Nanded constituency recorded 7.73 per cent voting for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. It stood at 7.23 per cent in Hingoli, 9.72 per cent in Parbhani, Wardha (7.18), Akola (7.17), Amravati (6.34), Buldhana (6.61) and Yavatmal-Washim (7.23), they said, adding that the average turnout recorded in these eight seats is about 7.4 per cent.

Madhya Pradesh recorded 13.82 per cent voting in the initial voter turnout trend till 9 am in the second phase of polling for six parliamentary seats in the state, according to the data released by the Election Commission of India. The polling for the six parliamentary seats -Tikamgarh (SC), Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa and Hoshangabad began on Friday at 7 am in the state. Of these, Hoshangabad is leading the voter turnout charts with 15.95 per cent voting followed by Satna 13.59 per cent, Khajuraho 13.44 per cent, Tikamgarh 13.36 per cent, Damoh 13.34 per cent, and Rewa 13.27 per cent till 9 am so far in the state.
