<p>The ruling Congress on Friday won three of the four Rajya Sabha seats in Rajasthan, overcoming the challenge posed by BJP-backed independent candidate Subhash Chandra, according to the party. The BJP got the fourth seat.</p>
<p>Congress candidates Randeep Surjewala, Mukul Wasnik and Pramod Tiwari were elected to the Rajya Sabha, according to a tweet by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.</p>

<p><strong>Polling underway for 16 Rajya Sabha seats in four seats</strong></p>
<p>Polling for 16 Rajya Sabha seats in four states is underway on Friday amid allegations of attempts at horse-trading by rival parties which have corralled their MLAs in hotels and scenic resorts.</p>
<p>The Election Commission has appointed special observers and ordered videography of the entire exercise.</p>
<p>Polling started at 9 am and will continue till 4 pm. The counting of votes will take place at 5 pm.</p>

<p>Fearing poaching of legislators ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections, the Rajasthan government on Thursday ordered the suspension of internet services in the Amer area of Jaipur district for 12 hours till 9 am on Friday, where Congress MLAs are staying after they returned from Udaipur.</p>
