Baba Siddique had a close relationship with the late actor-turned-politician Sunil Dutt, who was a Member of Parliament from Mumbai-North West constituency 

Over time, their relationship grew stronger as Siddique became more actively involved with Dutt`s cinematic productions and charity efforts

Because of his relationship with Dutt, Siddique was able to become a legislator from Bandra West in 1999, a seat he held for three consecutive terms 

Even after Sunil Dutt`s death in 2005, Siddique continued his close ties with Sanjay Dutt and his sister, Priya Dutt

In the same way that he was mentored by Sunil Dutt, Baba Siddique also influenced the political career of Priya, Sunil Dutt`s daughter

The Siddique and Dutt families were frequently spotted together at Iftar celebrations and family get-togethers

Their close bond was visible they visit one another on major occasions like birthdays

Sanjay Dutt was one of the first people to arrive at Lilavati Hospital after learning about Baba Siddique`s untimely demise. Priya Dutt, a congresswoman, too shared her sorrow on social media
