<p>The Congress was in power in Madhya Pradesh for a brief period between December 2018 and March 2020 under the leadership of Kamal Nath. However, apart from that short tenure, the party has remained out of power in the state since 2003. It is worth noting that the next state assembly elections are scheduled to be held in 2028</p>
