<p>The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) reported that nearly 344 shanty structures, mostly unoccupied, were demolished, as the land they owned had been illegally taken over. They also confirmed that no court had put a stop to the demolition process</p>

<p>The demolition occurs at a time when Delhi is facing a severe heatwave. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert as temperatures in parts of the city have reached 45.5 degrees Celsius</p>

<p>According to a notice issued to the residents on June 9, they were given three days to vacate their homes. However, the notices stated that all the residents of Bhoomiheen Camp, Kalkaji Extension, had been informed that illegal clusters would be demolished, as per court instructions</p>
