Meanwhile, in a symbolic gesture, CM Mamata Banerjee brought families of the recent Pahalgam terror attack victims, including Bitan Adhikari`s parents and Jhantu Ali Sheikh`s relatives, onto the stage. She honoured them with traditional stoles and announced RS 1 lakh financial aid for each family

The Chief Minister also asserted that the aid for the families came from Rs 1 contributions from every TMC worker, showing the party`s "emotional solidarity" with those who had lost loved ones
