Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), convened a meeting to analyze the party's disappointing outcome in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Scheduled in Lucknow at the BSP office, the meeting was attended by district-level officials, senior party leaders, and workers from across Uttar Pradesh.
The primary agenda included evaluating the factors contributing to the BSP's inability to win seats in the Lok Sabha polls. Additionally, strategies for enhancing performance in the upcoming 2027 assembly elections were deliberated upon.
BSP coordinators and district presidents from various states participated in the planning of future electoral strategies.
Akash Anand, formerly the national coordinator of the party, was also present despite recent changes in his role within the BSP structure.
The meeting acknowledged the contrasting performance of other political entities in Uttar Pradesh, such as the INDIA bloc comprising Congress and SP allies, which collectively secured 43 seats in the state.
Looking ahead, the BSP released a list of prominent campaigners for upcoming assembly by-elections in Uttarakhand.
The upcoming by-polls in Badrinath and Manglaur seats, necessitated by resignations and unfortunate deaths of sitting MLAs, will serve as a critical testing ground for the BSP's revamped campaign approach and organisational resilience.
