<p>The landslide occurred at 11.20 am near Junglechatti Ghat along the route, with boulders rolling down the hillside, hitting pilgrims and palanquin and porter operators.</p>

<p>Police and District Disaster Relief Force (DDRF) teams quickly reached the spot, rescued the injured, and took them to Gaurikund for treatment.</p>

<p>Two persons died on the spot while three others, including a woman, were injured. The woman sustained minor injuries, while the seriously injured men were referred to a health centre in Gaurikund.</p>

<p>Earlier, on June 16, a helicopter carrying devotees to Kedarnath crashed. The helicopter crash killed seven people. However, helicopter services in the Kedarnath valley were suspended for a day after the crash.</p>
