The West Bengal Chief Minister on Monday led a protest rally alongside Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders against the central government over concerns related to the shortage of LPG gas cylinders

Addressing the gathering in Kolkata, Banerjee accused the BJP of creating an "unplanned situation" that has caused suffering among citizens across the nation

Mamata also urged people not to fall for rumours and assured them that the state government is "handling the situation. Don't put your leg in any rumours. We handle the situation. Keep faith; we are with you," said Banerjee

On the contrary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Joint Secretary Sujata Sharma said, "Despite concerns around LPG supply, there have been no reports of dry-outs of gas supply at LPG distributorships across India"

While commercial LPG consumers in major cities and urban areas are encouraged to switch to PNG, and establishments such as hotels, restaurants, hospitals and hostels can obtain PNG connections through authorised City Gas Distribution (CGD) entities, the situation across the nation still remains concerning
