Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the Interim Budget 2024 presented by Union Finance Minister Narendra Modi and said the budget is just like a sweet spot. PM Modi also highlighted that the budget presented the Nirmala Sitharaman caters to the four pillars of Viksit Bharat. Various political leaders also reacted to the budget. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor labelled it as one of the shortest speeches on record in the Budget and termed it disappointing. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh mentioned it as an encouraging budget and said that the government is fully confident of achieving the target of becoming a developed nation by 2047. Congress MP Manish Tewari said that it is a `vote-on-account` which has only one purpose to keep the government solvent for the first quarter of the current fiscal year.
