Celebrations broke out across Maharashtra on the occasion of ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti 2024’ on February 19. On Shivaji’s birth anniversary, people performed ‘Aarti’ and celebrated the occasion. People in Nagpur, Maharashtra, gathered in large numbers on the streets and offered Aarti as a part of celebrations of the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Per the Gregorian calendar, the state observes Shivaji Jayanti with an annual public holiday on February 19. Nonetheless, a sizable population of Maharashtrians commemorate the event on the third day of Phalgun in the Hindu calendar.
