Prime Minister Narendra Modi commissioned India’s first home-built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant at Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kochi on Friday. The addition of the Indian Navy’s first home-built aircraft carrier brings the country closer to building its own fleet of warships, besides giving it a strategic advantage in its neighborhood.
