Now that the rains have taken off with dire warnings peppering social media and mobile screens, Mumbaikars will be off to enjoy waves and revel in lush, green vistas. With waterfalls in spate during the rains, there is the very real danger of people perched on slick rocks, revelling in the cascading water being pulled in by the strong current.

At times, they are standing at the top from where the waterfall starts, posing for their selfies to immortality. Some even have their back to the waterfall trying to take some kind of selfie with the gushing waterfall in the background. That is breaking one cardinal rule, never turn your back to the water, whether that be a lake, sea or even a waterfall.
