Just when one thought they had heard and, in some cases, seen it all, a medical-related shocker has arrived towards the end of the year. A doctor at a medical facility in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla has been accused of physically assaulting a patient. Videos are going viral, with some disclaimers warning about distressing content. Videos show a patient lying on a bed, and suddenly, a man in a white coat, presumably the doctor, unleashes a series of punches on his face. The patient is kicking the doctor, with another person who also seems to be a doctor seeking to restrain his legs. This would have been unbelievable if not caught on camera and made into a video. Reports said that an attendant had filmed this.
Reports are stating that the altercation was sparked after this patient asked the doctor to speak to him respectfully. A few other reports stated that the doctor was provoked. Whatever the truth, this is absolutely appalling. The doctor has been suspended, and a committee has been formed to investigate the matter.
