Bangladesh's former military general who played a key role in 2007 in installing an army-backed interim government replacing a caretaker one at the time has been arrested.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Retired Lieutenant General Masud Uddin Chowdhury has been arrested in relation to five cases,&rdquo; an officer said, without explaining the charges.&nbsp;
Chowdhury has been Bangladesh&rsquo;s ambassador to Australia and a member of parliament from the Jatiya Party, an ally of deposed prime minister <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/west-asia-conflict-congress-mp-priyanka-gandhi-vadra-seeks-parliament-debate-us-iran-israel-tensions-23622213" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Sheikh Hasina</a>&rsquo;s Awami League.
