Amid ongoing global tensions over tariffs and trade conflicts, Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir is expected to visit the US this week. The Pakistan Army Chief`s visit to the United States of America might be related to consultations with top American officials over international trade. This will be his second trip to Washington since the four-day conflict with India, a report said on Thursday.
In June, Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir travelled to the US on a rare five-day trip. During his visit, he attended a private luncheon with President Donald Trump. That meeting culminated in Trump`s announcement of enhanced US-Pakistan cooperation in various fields, including an oil deal, as reported by news agency PTI.
One of the leading newspapers in the United States of America has reported that Asim Munir might fly to the country for consultations. The newspaper, citing official sources, wrote, “Field Marshal Munir is expected in the US this week for consultations with his American counterparts,” as cited by news agency PTI.
