Iran, US harden positions as ceasefire diplomacy falters in West Asia

Tehran moved to formalise control over the Strait of Hormuz while Washington prepared for the arrival of US combat forces in the region

Iran and the US hardened their positions as diplomacy aimed at reaching a ceasefire in the war in the West Asia appeared to be faltering on Thursday.

Tehran moved to formalise control over the Strait of Hormuz while Washington prepared for the arrival of US combat forces in the region.
