Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, has claimed that more than 1,300 civilians have been killed and 9,669 civilian sites destroyed in military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel since February 28, reported the IANS.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Iravani said the attacks had severely impacted residential neighbourhoods and civilian infrastructure across Iran. According to figures presented by the Iranian mission, the destruction includes 7,943 homes, 1,617 commercial and service centres, 32 medical and pharmaceutical facilities, 65 schools and educational institutions, 13 buildings belonging to the Iranian Red Crescent, and several energy supply installations, as per the IANS.
