<p>According to The Wall Street Journal, the plan was conveyed through intermediaries, outlining steps to de-escalate hostilities and reshape Iran&rsquo;s regional role.</p>
<p>At the heart of the proposal is a requirement for Iran to completely dismantle its key nuclear infrastructure. This includes shutting down and destroying facilities at Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow.</p>
<p>The plan further insists that Iran cease all uranium enrichment on its soil and transfer any enriched material to the International Atomic Energy Agency under strict timelines, the news agency reported.</p>
<p>Tehran would also need to commit unequivocally to never pursuing nuclear weapons, while granting full transparency and access to international inspectors.</p>
<h2>Military and regional conditions</h2>
<p>Beyond nuclear restrictions, the proposal calls for <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/world-news/article/west-asia-war-iran-targets-israel-gulf-states-as-trump-hints-end-to-war-23622453" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>Iran</strong></a> to significantly scale back its military posture. This includes halting its ballistic missile programme&mdash;though detailed limitations would be addressed later&mdash;and restricting military capabilities strictly to self-defence, according to the IANS.</p>
<p>The framework also presses Iran to abandon its long-standing proxy strategy, including ending financial and military support to regional groups. Additionally, it emphasises the need to keep the Strait of Hormuz open as a secure and unrestricted international shipping route.</p>
<h2>Ceasefire and diplomatic pathway</h2>
<p>The plan includes an initial one-month ceasefire intended to create space for broader negotiations. Diplomatic efforts are being facilitated by intermediaries, with countries such as Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt reportedly playing key roles in bringing both sides to the table, according to The New York Times.</p>
<h2>Incentives for compliance</h2>
<p>In exchange for compliance, the United States has offered to lift all <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/world-news/article/us-israel-attacks-iran-missile-attack-from-iran-hits-tel-aviv-damages-buildings-and-injures-civilians-23622397" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>nuclear-related sanctions</strong></a> imposed on Iran. It has also proposed support for a monitored civilian nuclear energy programme centred in Bushehr.</p>
<p>Notably, the proposal includes removing the &ldquo;snapback&rdquo; mechanism, which allows for the automatic reinstatement of sanctions in case of violations.</p>
<h2>Ongoing tensions despite talks</h2>
<p>Despite the diplomatic overtures, tensions remain high. Reports indicate that Iran continues to conduct regional strikes, including against Israel and Gulf nations. The conflict, which began on February 28, has now entered its fourth week with sustained military and economic pressure.</p>
<p>Donald Trump struck a hopeful tone, suggesting that Iran is open to negotiations. Speaking at the White House, he stated, &ldquo;They&rsquo;d like to make a deal,&rdquo; adding that discussions were ongoing with <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/world-news/article/irans-new-supreme-leader-mojtaba-khamenei-said-to-be-open-to-us-talks-trump-eyes-joint-hormuz-control-23622375" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>key Iranian figures</strong></a>, the news agency reported.</p>
