In a major shift in the US–Venezuela relations, President Donald Trump, in a post on social media, said that he has cancelled a previously planned second wave of military attacks on Venezuela. Trump further cited improved cooperation from Caracas and a series of political prisoner releases by Venezuelan authorities.
