A winter storm watch has been issued, along with a cold weather advisory in effect for part of the weekend.

<p>The storm system will begin in the Southern Plains on Friday, then move across the South and into the East Coast, bringing plummeting temperatures, heavy snow, ice, and dangerously cold conditions.</p>
