Team India registered a dominating victory by five wickets against Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium in the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/asia-cup-2025-suryakumar-yadav-confirms-donating-tournament-match-fees-to-indian-armed-forces-and-pahalgam-terror-attack-victims-23596315" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Asia Cup 2025</a> final.
With this, the team ended the Asia Cup 2025 campaign by maintaining their unbeaten streak.
Following the triumph, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declared a prize money of Rs. 21 crore for the Asia Cup 2025-winning team and its support staff.
"It was (an) extraordinary victory and therefore as a part of celebrations, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/mithun-manhas-elected-as-bcci-president-rp-singh-pragyan-ojha-join-mens-selection-panel-23596204" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">BCCI</a> has announced a cash award of Rs 21 crore in favour of the players and the support staff who are part of the Indian team in the Asia Cup," BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia told PTI.
However, the cricket board did not give any details of its exact breakdown
"That money will be distributed and this is a big reward for our team and the Indian cricket board as well as the people of India. We are extremely proud of our cricketers and the support staff for their superb performance in Dubai," he added.

"Three blows. 0 response. Asia Cup Champions. Message delivered. (Rs) 21 crores prize money for the team and support staff," it stated referring to India's unbeaten streak against Pakistan. The Indian team was, in fact, undefeated through the tournament, winning all its seven matches.

After the victory, the "Men in Blue" refused to receive the trophy from the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chairman, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/asia-cup-2025-pcb-chief-mohsin-naqvi-reacts-to-prime-minister-narendra-modi-congratulatory-post-23596323" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Mohsin Naqvi</a>, who is also the chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Later, after India's refusal to receive the trophy, Naqvi was seen walking away with the showpiece. Following the incident, Saikia said that the BCCI will launch a protest against the ACC and he also called the act as "childish".
"So far as the trophy is concerned, trophy distribution, India cannot take the trophy from the person who is waging a war against our country. We have taken a decision not to accept the trophy but that does not allow the gentleman to take away the trophy and the medals to his hotel," said Saikia.
"This is unexpected, very childish in nature and we will launch a very strong protest with ICC in the forthcoming ICC meeting to be held in Dubai in the first week of November," he added.
In the final of the Asia Cup 2025, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/asia-cup-2025-ind-vs-pak-kuldeep-yadav-tilak-varma-deliver-crucial-performances-india-clinch-title-by-5-wickets-23596246" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Tilak Varma</a> played a match-winning knock of an unbeaten 69 runs. Facing 53 balls, he smashed three boundaries and four maximums while chasing the target.
Earlier, Kuldeep Yadav played a crucial role. He scalped four wickets by conceding 30 runs in four overs.
With this, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/asia-cup-2025-bcci-to-launch-protest-on-team-india-being-denied-asia-cup-trophy-confirms-devajit-saikia-23596306" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">India</a> defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the final of the Asia Cup 2025. The victory in the final also marked India's third win over Pakistan in the just-concluded continental tournament in Dubai.
