England pacer Chris Woakes revealed that he had said sorry to Team India`s Rishabh Pant for bowling a delivery that broke his foot during the fourth Test match.
In an attempt to reverse sweep the delivery, Pant sustained a blow on his foot, following which he seemed to be in pain and was forced to leave the field mid-match.
Despite him retiring hurt, the left-hander came to bat the next day with the broken foot. Similarly, Woakes injured himself during the fifth Test match. In an attempt to avoid a boundary, the pacer sustained an injury to his shoulder.
