Ex-England batsman Jonathan Trott to become new Afghanistan head coach

Trott, who played over 200 international matches for England including 52 Tests and 68 ODIs, worked as a batting coach for the senior England men`s team on their tour of India in 2021. He was also a mentor and batting coach for the under-19 team

Former England middle-order batter Jonathan Trott will take over as Afghanistan cricket team`s head coach from the tour of Ireland in August, after the country`s board announced the appointment of the 41-year-old on Saturday.

Trott, who played over 200 international matches for England including 52 Tests and 68 ODIs, worked as a batting coach for the senior England men`s team on their tour of India in 2021. He was also a mentor and batting coach for the under-19 team.
