ICC World Cup 2023 match between India and England is underway in Lucknow's Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. The stadium is fully packed to support their home team. The first inning of the match has ended and India has set a target of 230 runs for England to chase down.

The Ekana Cricket Stadium saw India's 'Hitman' play power packed strokes. Team India lost the wickets of Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer in a quick session. Virat Kohli departed for zero runs which is his first duck in ODIs this year. Kohli's wait for the 49th ton continues.

Despite, the early fall of wickets, Rohit Sharma took the responsibility of stabilizing the Indian innings. Sharma went on to score 87 runs in 101 balls and led the team from the front. Accompanying, him was India's wicket keeper batsman KL Rahul. The right-hander played a supporting knock of 39 runs in 58 balls. The Team India duo did not give any chance to England for dismissal.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma turned the tables in India's favour. But, Rahul was later dismissed by David Willey and Rohit threw his wicket in the hands of Liam Livingstone. Adil Rashid dismissed in form Rohit and brought England back into the game.
Ravindra Jadeja and Suryakumar Yadav were the only two players left who were capable of batting in the lower middle order. But Jadeja's wicket left Surya Kumar alone in the middle. English bowlers made a late comeback after struggling to strike wickets in middle overs.
Surya Kumar Yadav's knock of 49 runs helped India to reach a respectable total of 229 runs against England.
So far, Team India is the most successful team in the ICC World Cup 2023 with five wins in all the five matches they have played. Will England be able to break the winning streak of the host nation?
