In the fifth T20I match against Team India, Australia skipper <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ind-vs-aus-4th-t20i-mitchell-marsh-wins-toss-australia-opt-to-bowl-first-23601950" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Mitchell Marsh</a> has won the toss and elected to bowl first at The Gabba in Brisbane.
Heading into the clash, the "Men in Blue" have made one change. Tilak Varma sits out, and Rinku Singh comes in for the clash in Brisbane.
On the other hand, the Aussies have entered with the unchanged playing XI.
After winning the toss, the hosts' skipper Marsh said that his team looks at the clash as an opportunity to level the series.
"We&rsquo;ll bowl first. The surface looks good, and it&rsquo;s always great playing here &mdash; one of the best stadiums to play in. Not quite a World Cup final, but certainly a chance to level the series. Both teams have played quality cricket, and tonight&rsquo;s another opportunity for us to put on a strong performance," he said.
"The last game had a slightly inconsistent surface and we went away from our approach a bit. Credit to <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/team-india-pratika-rawal-recalls-staying-mentally-strong-after-injury-23602210" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">India</a>, they bowled really well. But the conditions are different tonight, and we&rsquo;re excited to play our brand of cricket. No changes for us this time &mdash; thankfully, after having to make four last night," added the 34-year-old cricketer.
The Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav said that winning the bilateral series will help them find the right combinations in the future.
"Honestly, as long as you&rsquo;re winning games, losing the toss doesn&rsquo;t really matter. The team&rsquo;s looking in great rhythm &mdash; everyone just wants to go out there, express themselves, and enjoy. It&rsquo;s important to understand the team&rsquo;s goal, and I think every batter assessed the conditions really well in the last game. They knew it wasn&rsquo;t a 200-run wicket and adapted smartly. The energy in the field was excellent too &mdash; we ticked all the boxes and want to carry that momentum forward," said the Mumbai-born cricketer.
"Winning bilaterals always feels good, but it&rsquo;s also about identifying the right combinations for the future. Everyone&rsquo;s adapting to their roles and understanding their positions well. Apart from the openers, we want our batting order to stay flexible &mdash; that&rsquo;s what this format demands. It&rsquo;s all about what the team needs. We have one change tonight &mdash; Tilak Varma is resting, and <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/asia-cup-2025-will-rinku-singh-manage-to-make-it-to-the-indian-squad-23589663" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Rinku Singh</a> comes," he added.
