Despite the first warm-up game at Canterbury ending in a draw, Jurel batted comfortably with both his knocks coming at strike-rates of 78.33 and 100, respectively. India ‘A’ soared to 557 in the first innings. England Lions responded with 587 in their effort. The game ended with India ‘A’ at 241-2.

In the second warm-up game at Northampton, Jurel was the second-highest scorer in the first innings for India ‘A’ after KL Rahul’s 116, which took them to 348. England made 327. Jurel contributed again as India declared at 417-7 in their second innings. The match ended in a draw.
