Team India managed to clinch the three-match ODI and five-match T20I series against South Africa. Under the captaincy of KL Rahul, the "Men in Blue" sealed the ODI series by 2-1, whereas the side sealed the shortest format series by 3-1 under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav.

Despite winning the two formats` series, former Team India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar said that the results in Test cricket define the true health of the country`s cricket.
