Ravindra Jadeja played a starring role once again as India ended up beating the West Indies by an innings and 140 runs in the first Test of the two-match series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 4. The left-arm spinner picked up sensational figures of 4/54 as the West Indies were bundled out for just 146 in their second innings. With this win, India takes a dominant 1-0 lead in the series.
It all began right from the start of play on Day 3 as the hosts were superb in the field with their catching. Tagenarine Chanderpaul tried to pull Mohammed Siraj for a boundary, but Nitish Kumar Reddy swiftly moved to his right and completed a brilliant diving catch to send the batter packing for 8 runs off 23 balls. John Campbell was the next one to be dismissed as he was caught at short leg off Ravindra Jadeja's bowling for 14 runs off 32 balls.
