The upcoming edition of the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ipl-2026-anil-kumble-expects-abhishek-sharma-to-show-greater-maturity-this-season-23621635" rel="nofollow">Indian Premier League</a> (IPL) is all set to kick off from March 28. So far, the schedule of only first 20 matches has been released due to state elections.
Ahead of the season, Punjab Kings' (PBKS) batsman Shashank Singh said that the preparation has been up to the mark and the team is ready to entertain the cricket fans.
"This is technically our fifth or sixth camp. The franchise is making sure we have regular camps. The one in Abu Dhabi was the best among all. The preparation is really up to the mark, and we are all ready to go and keep you guys entertained," he said.
Further speaking, the 34-year-old cricketer said that he enjoys batting in the big moments and expressed confidence in clinching the elusive title.
"The next two months are very important for all of us, so our entire focus is on how to win the trophy. I try my best to enjoy the big moments rather than taking them as pressure. I have already told everyone that this year we are lifting the trophy for sure," said Shashank.
The first match of the tournament is scheduled to be played between the defending champions, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ipl-2026-virat-kohli-bhuvneshwar-kumar-padikkal-join-royal-challengers-bengaluru-camp-23621458" rel="nofollow">Royal Challengers Bengaluru</a> (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
PBKS will begin the IPL 2026 campaign by playing a clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) on March 31 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.
