"Now he's just making it count and going on and making huge scores," said Smith on Joe Root. The Englishman has played 158 Test matches for England, in which he has scored 13,543 runs. He also has 39 centuries and 66 half-centuries. While enjoying his rich vein of form, the right-hander is also inching closer to breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record

Australia's star batsman Steve Smith labelled England's stalwart Joe Root an "incredible" player.
While speaking about Root's form, Smith in an interview to Sky Sports said, "I think not just in the Indian series, but over the last two years, he's been incredible. His ability to make big scores and go from 50 to 100, that is perhaps one thing that he got caught in that 50 to 100 spot for quite a while, and now he's just making it count and going on and making huge scores."
In the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Root scored a total of 537 runs in 10 innings against Team India. However, the five-match Test series between the two teams ended in a 2-2 draw.
