India's senior fast bowler Mohammed Shami received a death threat via email, prompting swift action from local authorities. The incident came to light after Shami’s brother, Haseeb, reported the threat to the police on Monday.

"Mohammed Shami's brother Haseeb has informed us that the cricketer has received a death threat via email. The sender had demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore. A case has been registered at the Amroha Police Station, and we are trying to trace the email sender,” said Amroha Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar, speaking to PTI.
