Indian women&rsquo;s team bowling all-rounder <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ind-w-vs-aus-w-test-father-ganesh-speaks-about-sayali-satghare-work-ethic-23619804" rel="nofollow">Sayali Satghare</a>, who made an impressive Test debut against Australia recently, is eyeing a place in the T20I squad for the upcoming series against South Africa.
Satghare, 25, who played three ODIs for India against Ireland in January 2025, picking three wickets, also took an impressive 4-50 in her maiden pink-ball Test against Australia at Perth recently.

The series against SA, beginning on April 17, is being looked upon as a tune-up event for the ICC Women&rsquo;s T20 World Cup to be held in England in June, and the Mumbai girl&rsquo;s goal is to be part of the Indian squad in the shortest format.&nbsp;
&ldquo;I would love to be there [in South Africa], but I have done whatever I could have in the past few months, so it&rsquo;s up to the selectors,&rdquo; Satghare told mid-day on the sidelines of the launch of the T20 Mumbai League Season 4 and the inaugural season of the T20 Mumbai Women&rsquo;s League at a city hotel on Sunday.&nbsp;

The right-arm pacer, who claimed 10 scalps for Royal Challengers Bengaluru during their Women&rsquo;s Premier League triumph earlier this year, idolises India&rsquo;s ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah and Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc and wants to be an all-format player like them. &ldquo;<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/jas-give-him-the-ball-jasprit-bumrah-on-enjoying-the-responsibility-of-taking-wickets-23620586" rel="nofollow">Bumrah</a> and Starc are really good in all three formats, both of them adapt to the conditions well whether it is a T20 or a Test match or the one-day game. They read the situations well and their execution is on point,&rdquo; said Satghare.
Satghare got an opportunity to share the dais with India&rsquo;s 2024 T20 World Cup-winning captain Rohit Sharma. Interestingly, though Rohit and Satghare have lived in Borivli, she revealed that it was her first time meeting the Indian opener. &ldquo;This is the first time I have met him [Rohit], so I haven&rsquo;t spoken to him a lot, but he&rsquo;s been an inspiration for a long time. He&rsquo;s a legend of the game and he&rsquo;s the greatest opener for India,&rdquo; Satghare signed off.
