Virat Kohli sets unmatched record with 900+ rating points across all formats

In Tests, Kohli achieved a peak rating of 937 points during India's tour of England in 2018, the highest ever by an Indian batter and the 11th-highest overall. That series remains one of his most dominant, with 593 runs in 10 innings, including two centuries and three half-centuries

More than a year after stepping away from T20Is and two months following his retirement from Test cricket, Virat Kohli continues to shatter records. On Wednesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) updated his career-best T20I rating points to 909, thus making him the only batter in the history to breach the 900-mark across all three formats of the game.

Kohli, who retired from T20Is after playing a match-winning knock of 76 in the final of the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup, saw his T20I rating upgraded from 897 to 909, according to Wisden. This makes it the third-highest rating ever recorded in T20Is, trailing only behind England's Dawid Malan (919) and India’s Suryakumar Yadav (912).

In Tests, Kohli achieved a peak rating of 937 points during India's tour of England in 2018, the highest ever by an Indian batter and the 11th-highest overall. That series remains one of his most dominant, with 593 runs in 10 innings, including two centuries and three half-centuries. Despite India’s batting struggles during the tour, Kohli stood tall as the lone warrior.
