Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur, who was added to the squad as a pace bowling all-rounder for the first Test match, had hardly made any contributions. He was also a part of lower-order failure during the series opener.
Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna, who was expected to show support to India`s lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah, failed to step up to the role. Krishna also achieved the record of becoming the Indian bowler to deliver the worst economy rate in a spell of at least 20 overs. If he misses the cut in the playing XI for the second Test, Arshdeep Singh will likely make his debut in the longest format of the game

Karun Nair

Karun Nair fell short of announcing his comeback in style during the first Test match. Following his failure, the management may think of bringing in Abhimanyu Easwaran for the second match.
