Chasing a mammoth total of 254 runs for a victory, England lost an early wicket as Phil Salt departed early. Hardik Pandya got the early breakthrough for India.

The Englishman set a record for the fastest T20 World Cup fifty by an Englishman (19 balls) before motoring his way to a maiden T20I hundred. He reached his hundred in just 45 balls, smashing Indian bowlers to all parts of the ground.
