Lamine Yamal was released from the Spain squad for their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers after undergoing medical treatment without prior notification, the Spanish football federation (RFEF) said on Tuesday. 

The federation announced ‘their surprise’ after discovering Yamal ‘had undergone an invasive radiofrequency procedure to treat his pubic discomfort.’
