Atletico Madrid suffered a 2-3 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of their last-16 Champions League encounter, but managed to advance thanks to their 7-5 aggregate score. 

“We knew it wouldn’t be easy against them. We obviously wanted to win on the night, and had opportunities to do so, but the important thing is we’re through,” said Julian Alvarez.
