Following a disappointing 2024-25 English Premier League campaign which saw Manchester United finish 15th in the table and miss out on UEFA Champions League qualification after losing the Europa League title to Tottenham Hotspur, manager Ruben Amorim admitted that he felt frustrated going to games, knowing his side will not be competitive.

“All the struggles we had in games, I felt it before. That was the hardest part. To go to the games and know that we are not going to be competitive — I was really frustrated,” Amorim told BBC Sport. “If I feel before the game that we’re going to be competitive, then we’ll be ok. I don’t want to return to that feeling that we are thinking it’s not a 50-50 game,” he added.
