Galtier is a former professional footballer himself and played for the likes of Marseille and Lille in France

In 2009, Galtier was made the head coach of Saint-Etienne with whom he won the Coupe de la Ligue in 2012-13

<p>Galtier then moved to LOSC Lille in 2017 and that`s where he earned his claim to fame. In a fairytale 2020/21 campaign, Galtier took Lille to their first Ligue 1 triumph since 2011</p>
