Aly Raisman struggled with fatigue and anxiety after she ended her professional gymnastics career in 2016.

In an interview with People magazine, Raisman revealed how she was unable to understand what her body needed after years of training hard.

“The last couple of years I’ve been really struggling with just not really feeling like my full, normal self. I felt like I had no energy. For my gymnastics, there was just go, go, go nonstop. And so I really had to take a step back and figure out what worked,” said the Olympic gold medallist.

Raisman said she is trying to learn new things each day while working out. “It’s still a work in progress, and I’m still learning new things everyday and listening to my body as much as I can,” said Raisman, who feels Pilates helped her be more graceful and confident as a professional gymnast.
