Argentine rallies past Alejandro Tabilo to lift Rio Open crown

Argentina’s Tomas Martin Etcheverry clinched his first ATP Tour title with a hard-fought 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-4 victory over Alejandro Tabilo in the final of the Rio Open. Forced to play both his semi-final and the championship match on the same day after rain delays, Etcheverry showed grit to rally from a set and a break down to seal the ATP 500 crown

Tomas Martin Etcheverry captured his maiden ATP Tour title at the Rio Open a 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-4 championship-match victory against Alejandro Tabilo. 

After Saturday rain postponed his semi-final match, the Argentine persevered through two matches on Sunday (local time) and eventually earned the ATP 500 title.
