Indian Open: Antil bags gold in javelin throw

The championship serves as the final selection trial for the Indian contingent  ahead of the World Para Athletics Championships later this year.

Sumit Antil reaffirmed his dominance by clinching the men’s javelin throw (F12 category & F64 category) gold on Day One of the 7th Indian Open Para Athletics Championship here on Friday.

Antil sent his spear to a distance of 72.25m, clinching top honours. On the track, reeti Pal dazzled the crowd in the women’s 100m (T35, T37 & T42) by winning gold with an impressive 15-second sprint.

The championship serves as the final selection trial for the Indian contingent  ahead of the World Para Athletics Championships later this year.
