American tennis star Serena Williams will be one of the four individuals who will be honoured by Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) at the FIT Gala on April 13 in New York. 

Williams will receive the Fashion Icon Breakthrough Award for her accomplishments off the court, like investing in companies that value diversity, launching her apparel line—S by Serena and creating her signature jewellery in collaboration with Signet Jewelers.
